szatę adekwatną do panującej pory roku, zasiadający na
przepięknym tronie pośród wspaniałych fresków i złoceń – Wat
Phra Kaeo jest zdecydowanie najważniejszą ze świątyń wyznawców
buddyzmu.
Wat Phra Kaew mieści się po prawej stronie Wielkiego Pałacu. Budowa
świątyni rozpoczęła się za panowania Ramy I, a dokładnie – w
momencie przeniesienia stolicy z Thonburi do Bangkoku w 1782 r.
W odróżnieniu od innych buddyjskich
świątyń, nie mieszkają tutaj mnisi. Dla buddystów ta świątynia
jest pewnego rodzaju symbolem, a także ważnym miejscem pielgrzymek
i duchowego wyciszenia.

Emerald Buddha, dressed in a robe
adequate to the prevailing seasons, seated on a beautiful throne
amidst a wonderful frescoes and gilded - Wat Phra Kaeo is by far the
most important of the temples the followers of Buddhism.
Wat Phra Kaew is located on the right side of the Grand Palace. Construction
of the temple began during the reign of Rama I, to be exact - at the
time of transfer of the capital from Thonburi to Bangkok in 1782
Unlike other Buddhist temples, monks do
not live here. For Buddhists, this temple is a kind of symbol, as
well as an important place of pilgrimage and spiritual silence.
